Meet Candice Johnson Lead Designer
Behind Made By CJ

Born into a fashion legacy in the Canadian Rockies, Candice grew up surrounded by family gifted with sewing and design. Inspired by her grandmother, Sylvia Rempel, who built the iconic Canadian jacket brand SunIce from a humble home sewing room, and her mother and aunts who joined Sylvia in founding a nonprofit that teaches women worldwide in impoverished areas the life changing skill of sewing, Candice’s path in fashion was inevitable.

Though naturally gifted on a sewing machine, Candice has spent the last decade honing her craft under Silvia’s mentorship. Her passion deepened through her work with Sewing Seeds Canada, empowering women across continents with the skill of garment production.
